Newport cheese is named after the Shropshire market town where it is made. Matured for around three months, Newport cheese has a unique flavour derived from the pastures where Grove Farm’s cows graze during the spring, summer and autumn.
The cheese is described as a distinctive, coloured, hard cheese with traditional character and mellow taste. Comparisons have been made with a young version of a French cheese called Mimollete.
Ideal to use as part of a cheese board, Newport is best enjoyed with a glass of port.
